ROBERT DE MAIO

BSc(ClinSc), MHSc(Osteo)

Osteopath

Robert returned home to Western Australia in 2012 after five years practicing abroad in New Zealand and Canada, where he gained valuable experience from work and travel, and has since enjoyed setting up a life in Perth with his wife Hannah and son Rohan, savouring the amazing Perth lifestyle.

He enjoys the wide variety of problems and challenges that he sees day-to-day as an Osteopath such as back and neck pain, headaches, joint pains (ankle, knee, hip, wrist, elbow, shoulder), arthritic conditions, and jaw pain just to name a few.

He has a special interest in the treatment of babies, children, and women during and after pregnancy. He has extensive experience treating sporting injuries through his involvement as a sports trainer and his own personal experience in various sports, having a particular interest in running injuries and treating endurance athletes.

He is passionate about the whole-body approach taken in Osteopathy, and the philosophy of finding and treating the root cause, rather than chasing symptoms. He believes that providing hands-on tailor-made care to each individual patient, helps people achieve optimal outcomes.

His treatment style varies from gentle treatment such as cranial osteopathy (craniosacral), counterstrain, balanced ligamentous tension (BLT) and functional technique, to firmer treatment such as muscle massage, muscle energy technique (MET), and gentle joint mobilisation and manipulation. Having a wide range of techniques at his disposal, means he can tailor treatment to suit your individual needs and preferences, suiting all body types and ages.

He treats patients of all ages, from one day old, to the elderly. No one is too young or too old!
